Keri-Ann Berga, RN, BScN, MScN, IBCLC, PNC(C), CNeoN(C). I am a Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant, and Legal Nurse Consultant with over 20 years of nursing and teaching experience in neonatal, perinatal, public health nursing, and in various academic settings. My clinical background includes: Level III NICU, paediatrics, maternal-child care, postpartum, and community public health nursing, trauma and violence informed care, with a strong focus on maternal-newborn outcomes and family-centred care. As a Legal Nurse Consultant, I provide nursing standards review, medical record analysis, case screening, chronology development, expert support, and consultation related to neonatal care, obstetrics (antenatal and postpartum), human lactation, newborn assessment, public health, and general nursing practice. I am also a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor Trainer and bring extensive experience in nursing academia, curriculum development, and research. My approach is thorough, collaborative, and grounded in both current and historical standards of care, allowing me to review cases within the context of the guidelines and practices in place at the time of an event. I am passionate about helping legal teams interpret complex healthcare issues clearly and accurately while advancing patient safety, professional accountability, and quality care for all.
