With 25 years of health care experience in Nova Scotia and Ontario, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, health care leadership, education, quality, and health law to my work as a Legal Nurse Consultant. I am a recent graduate of the Osgoode Certificate in Health Law and have particular interest in health care regulation, professional practice, standards of care, patient safety, and the intersection of clinical practice with these concepts. My clinical experience spans medicine, emergency care, transplant and neurotrauma ICU. Over the past 14 years, I have held progressive roles in leadership encompassing clinical operations, quality, professional practice, clinical management, and strategic leadership. These roles have provided extensive opportunity in analyzing complex clinical and organizational issues, interpreting professional standards and policies, conducting quality reviews, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams. I have also taught in both RPN diploma programs and in BScN programs, with a focus on clinical practice, professional accountability and evidence informed care.
