Angeera Wall-Ievtushenko, RN, BScN, BEd., OCT, LNC
Biographical Info Angeera Wall-Ievtushenko is a dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) in Ontario since 2007. She is a graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly called Ryerson University) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree. She has a certificate in Critical Care from Durham College, working most of her Nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit (Critical Care). As well, she has a Bachelor in Education (BEd.) degree and has been an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) since 2020, graduating from Brock University in St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada. Having a passion for health care education Angeera explains, "I envisioned becoming an educator one day. Once I knew I had the experience, knowledge, and skill set to teach what I know best, Nursing and health care!” Advancing towards becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) allowed for similar, yet reflective thought of her professional work experiences and knowledge of the standards of Nursing, including the scope of practice as a Registered Nurse. Currently, she works teaching secondary school students and Personal Support Workers students Health Care courses as per the Ministry of Education in Ontario, along with work in the Intensive Care Unit. She began her Nursing career working in Maternal Newborn and Child, completing a Perinatal Internship. This included Labour and Delivery (perioperative assisting in the operating room for cesarean sections and postoperative care), Postpartum, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level II) and Pediatrics. As mentioned most of her career she worked in the area of Critical Care, both in the Medical Surgical and Cardiac Intensive Care Units after completing a Critical Care Internship. She has gained a tremendous amount of experience with critical drugs, mechanical ventilation, electrocardiograms and emergency situations which have been guided by evidence based practice. While working in the Intensive Care Unit she has been an active part of the 'Critical Care Response Team’ (CCRT). Where she has been able to extend her skills beyound the Intensive Care Unit and into the general wards as a first responder and Critical Care practitioner team approach. Due to her wide interest in Nursing, she has also worked in the Emergency (ER) Department as a Float Pool/New Resource Team (NRT) staff Nurse, as well as an agency Nurse. Other areas working in the hospital part of NRT were endoscopy, orthopaedics, geriatrics, surgery, nephrology, urology, gynecology, cardiology (telemetry) and stroke, respiratory, mental health, oncology, general surgery, medical units and more. She has gained a global experience as a Nursing Officer, having worked on grand class cruise ships ranging from 3500-4000 passengers and crew as a Nursing Officer (first responder) caring for ill crew and passengers. This is where she worked with a small medical team, alongside foreign coastguards, flight and ground medics around the world. Her interest in teaching Nursing began as a preceptor while working in the Intensive Care unit and as a Clinical Instructor and Educator to Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) students at two colleges in Long Term Care (LTC) settings and Rehabilitation units. Additionally, she has worked in a multi-organ transplant (MOT) day and inpatient unit, providing preoperative and postoperative care for new organ transplant recipients and living organ donors. Later in her Nursing career she had the opportunity in a leadership role as a Nurse manager at a Psychiatric Center for child and youth. As well, as working on the virtual platform providing verbal and written instruction for COVID-19 Nasal Swab at home testing. Her most recent venture over the summer has been working as a Camp Nurse, caring for unwell staff and campers.
